Sound-Performance-Chart-Secondary-Glazin

Secondary glazing is extremely beneficial in the Acoustic sector. Traditional double glazing offers an improvement over old single glazed windows for sound reduction however Secondary Glazing having a larger cavity between in inside pane of glass and the outside pane of glass offers the greatest benefit. A modern double glazed unit has a 20mm gap between inner and outer pane.  Secondary glazing has a gap of at least 70mm and can go in excess of 300mm  as long as glazed aperture allows it.

We fit all our Secondary Glazed Units with 4mm toughened glass as standard but this can be upgraded to laminated glass or even acoustic glass  for even greater benefits in sound proofing. All frames are fitted with acoustic tape on the inside so that when it seals to your existing window, or into the reveal, you obtain all the sound benefits from your secondary.
